Q: I have two cars and I want a tag for each.  Can I submit that information on one application and send you a check for both?
A: No.  The state has informed us that it will require a separate paper application for each tag.  So please fill out ONE APPLICATION FOR EACH TAG ORDERED. The payment to the Alabama Alumni & Booster Club may be combined.

Q: What logo will be on the license plates?
A: We also just received approval from the Athletic Department to use the Script A logo that is enclosed in a circle with the words “Crimson Tide”. Our license agreement with state has been updated. No moreangry elephant!

Q: I have a valid Georgia drivers license, however my father, who is co-owner of my car, lives in Alabama and therefore has a valid Alabama drivers license. Is he required to have a Georgia license in order for me to successfully order the new tag? Or should I be the only one to sign the form?
A: Only the Georgia resident whose name appears on the car title needs to send in an application

Q: The language in the PDF application file is confusing regarding fees.  If I read the email correctly, I'm only to send my application to you along with a check to the Alabama Alumni & Booster Club for $25.00. However, the application form lists other fees (special license plate fee, registration fee, and ad valorem tax. When and how do I pay these additional fees?
A: The process for the tags is as follows – We will send in 1,000 applications and one check for $25,000 to the state. The tag will then go into production. Once the tags are ready, it will either be mailed to you or you will receive a receipt to go pick up your tag at the local tag office. At that time you will be responsible for any registration fees or ad valorem taxes. However, if you are already up to date for the year (i.e. you have already renewed) you can just swap the tag.

Q: Do we know what they are going to look like?
A: Not yet, the State is working on the design and once it is ready it will be posted on the DMV website.

Q: Are Bama tags available for motorcycles?
A: There is no specialty tag available for motorcycles.

Q: I own more than one vehicle. How do I tell the state WHICH vehicle the Bama tag is for? Aren't they going to want to know that?
A: After you receive the plate, or the receipt for the plate, you will still need to register it at your local office. At that time you can specify which vehicle(s) you want to have the tag.

Q: We have a car with a personalized vanity plate, will this vanity plates be reissued with the Bama logo?
A: Sorry, you cannot personalize the specialty tags. The specialty tags will be sequentially numbered.
